I don't pop in here very often because my client's Vigor 2860 with v3.7.5_BT is running fine. Like rock solid for months. But I do like to occasionally upgrade the firmware esp. for security reasons. So this is a very key post to read. That thread was about v3.8.9.1_BT but I see the latest version is v3.8.9.2_BT. Any horror stories with this version?
Thanks, Rob.

Look like 3.8.9.1 has some major issues;simmondp wrote:

See my latest post in "2862 - 3.8.9.1_BT firmware upgrade breaks IPv6 +others?". I was still having multiple problems and reverted back to 3.8.8.2

Following on from my upgrade issues from v3.7.8, check in System Maintenance - Management - LAN Access Setup that the checkbox is ticked otherwise you lock yourself out of the console and have to revert back to v3.8.8 using the .all file
I went straight from v3.7.8 to 3.8.9.2_BT but got locked out of the Admin Console. User 'Spellbinder' helped me out. It seems that there is a config issue between v3.8.8 and v3.8.9.2 that somehow broke access to the admin console if plugged into LAN1 irrespective if the check box was ticked or not. Seem LAN1 (socket) was set in previous versions to allow LAN access even if box was not ticked but somehow has been broken is 3.8.9.2_BT
I manually worked up from v3.7.8 through all the upgrades and restores etc until I discovered that I could only get as far as v3.8.8. It was at this point that Spellbinder stepped in to tell me what was happening.
If you have WAN access to the router, you can get into the console and tick the LAN box on.
So, just watch that one.
Hope all that makes sense.

I've updated 4 routers with this latest firmware 3892.
3 x 2860 models
1 x 2862 model
on 2860 - it has fixed a lot of issues which I've been having since 2.8.8 security update - all seems OK now on two routers, one 2860 is struggling
on 2862 - Its Fine.
my struggling 2860 is set up with dual WAN and load balancing- Business grade FTTC via Modem on Ethernet connection & ADSL2
- Whenever there is a bigger traffic generated by LAN client - router struggles supporting VPN connection and drops pings to WAN/LAN and VPN, when I stop download - all goes back to normal
- When I'm browsing web GUI on LAN IP via VPN - router is dropping ping same as above, when I log out all goes back to normal
I'm not happy with this firmware at all on 2860
I'm thinking about upgrading 2860 to 2862 if this carry on with firmware will continue
