Outdoor Access Points
ExpiredThe best outdoor wireless access points are characterized by a well-designed, weather resistant housing for continuous operation. They should stand extremely hot and cold temperatures, dust, water, dirt and wet conditions.
Outdoor wireless access points can often be priced higher than their indoor counterparts, because they are made with higher-grade, high-tolerance components to withstand extreme temperatures. Along with ruggedized casing designed to protect the access point from water & dust ingress in all environments, which requires IP65, IP66, or IP67 rated housings to fully protect the access point from the elements.
Power over Ethernet or PoE is often used to conveniently run both power and network cabling to the outdoor access point with a single cable. Passive PoE injectors can be used to reliably power an outdoor access point with a full 100-meter cable run.
DrayTek's outdoor wireless access point solution, includes models that are IP67 rated with a sealed weatherproof housing, enhanced heat dissipation and high-grade components to ensure reliable operation in extreme hot and cold environments. The VigorAP 918RPD integrates a 5GHz high-gain directional antenna that can build a point-to-point wireless bridge or Mesh.
For convenience of installation, they are powered solely through PoE+ or with the high power passive PoE injector, the VigorPoE 600.
Each outdoor VigorAP model can be used in a Mesh network, provisioned by DrayTek Vigor routers or VigorAPs and remotely managed with DrayTek’s VigorACS platform.
