2860n and ever decreasing VDSL sync speeds was created by marjohn56
I am currently running my 2860 using the EWAN port connected to the OR modem. I am having to do this due to the fact that if I connect to the VDSL directly over the course of a few days the DLM will reduce my sync rate from the normal 62Mbs using the OR modem to around 50Mbs or lower.
I know that after re-syncing the DLM will most likely force a drop in speed and I have taken that into account by allowing several days to pass after I have connected the VDSL on the 2860, I never see the sync speed start to increase.
Twice now I have then reconnected the OR modem and sure enough the sync rate will start to climb and after a few days it is back to its normal 62Mbs.
The other thing that is alarming is that doing a VDSL Status reports no CRC or FEC errors at all, zero, that in itself cannot be correct!
Is anyone else having issues with VDSL connections or do I have a dodgy one?
Note, I have changed the faceplace and have tried all the normal tricks to try and get this to settle down with no success.
In saying all this, the 2860 is working quite happily using the EWAN connection but I bought it so I could do away with the OR modem.
Any thoughts?

change modem code wan>general setup>dsl modem code
alternative you try the vector firmware, i know Vectoring line is not in use in Uk yet but has got noise cancellation so it may helps be more stable the line
(latest firmware is 3.7.4.3)

I am using the latest firmware.
I am using the default modem code 544401, the other being 552011, what's the difference?

Answered my own question, 548006 is for VDSL, the other is for ADSL according to the firmware readme file.

If you don't see any change after few days ... worth to try and the vector firmware (perhaps & also there should be available modem code to change) using the *all* file to load it is fine
Make sure MTU is 1492

MTU won't make any difference to the VDSL sync speed. read the following:
