AP902 WDS Issues with 2762ac was created by zimma
Hi all,
I've just removed an AP802 and replaced with an AP902 in order to upgrade the access point to 5GHz.
The 2762ac is setup for WDS Router Mode with the MAC address of the AP902's 5GHz wifi.
The AP902 has 2.4 disabled, operation mode set to WDS-Bridge, with the 5GHz WDS set to point to the 2762ac's 5Ghz MAC address.
The link comes up, but within 24 hours, or a period of heavy usage on the AP902 access point, the link will drop. The 2762ac reports the WDS link is down. I cannot ping the AP902 from the 2762ac.
When the link is down, if I wireless channel scan close the to AP902, sometimes the scan reveals wifi isn't even running on the AP902, other times it is there but you can't connect to it, and even when it looks like I have managed to connect to it, i get no connectivity as the downstream link to the DHCP running on the 2762ac is dead.
If I connect wired to the AP902 and use a static ip, I can get into the web interface. No errors are logged, and everything appears set correctly, just wifi seems to have stopped working.
Rebooting the AP902 seems to recover the link and all works well for another few hours.
Anyone had anything similar?
I've seen reports of stability issues with the AP902's 5GHz elsewhere.

I downgraded the firmware on the AP902 to 1.2.5 earlier today and sofar it has been rock solid. I'll keep monitoring and attempt to identify if it is a specific firmware issue, and if so, which version it started.

So I tried the AP902 on v1.2.5, v1.2.6, v1.2.8, v1.3.1 and v1.3.2
On all firmware version apart from v1.3.2 the access point ran flawlessly for a period in excess of 24 hours.
On version v1.3.2 it ran for about 16 hours, then the WDS Link to the 2762 went down overnight. In the morning a wireless scan showed the AP902's wifi was actually running on the wrong channel. The 5GHz channel in the 2762 and the 902 are fixed to allow WDS to work. So obviously when the AP902 switched channel, the WDS link went down.
A reboot of the AP902 and the link came back up with 5Ghz on the correct channel once again.
Dropping the firmware back to v1.3.1 and it has been running for over 24 hours now without a hitch.
So from my very basic testing, I would say there is an issue in the 1.3.2 firmware on 5Ghz.
