I believe I am following the instructions correctly. These are the steps I am completing:

1) Unplug power lead from AP700 (there is no switch).
2) Hold reset button (this is an actual button on the AP700, not a recessed reset button as with the AP800).
3) Reconnect power lead whilst still holding button.

At this point, the PWR & WLAN light on the AP700 turn on constantly. There is no fast-flashing.

4) Release reset button.

The PWR & WLAN are still on constantly. There is still no fast-flashing.

5) Press send button on firmware update tool.

I'm not sure if this device is totally dead, or if something else is required on the AP700 to enter TFTP mode?

Sam :)

this is the correct order (well as far i know i have reflash my ap 800) & thanks for correcting me ...
very strange
i would say to send an email to UK support & ask how to reflash it ... must be a way
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/techquery
i also have find this document (but i am not register yet to see if is the correct one)
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-reflash

also try (while the power is on) to send the firmware via the utility tool only (as long you have the correct username pass & ip range) with out tricks with the power or reset button, it may set the ap 700 automatic at TFTP mode

Thanks for trying to help. I'll see if I can get any assistance from support.

Sadly this is a really old document, and only really refers to the full sized routers.

Alas, no help from support. They ran through the re-flash procedure again, and when this failed, asked me to RMA it. I explained that I didn't have any proof of purchase for this particular device, and they told me they don't offer repairs for this model.

Game over. :(

i thought they will repair it with a reasonable fee if is out of warranty or not proof of receipt
Well try the 30/30/30 reset then try it again if will help you out
Basically holding the reset button for 1 & half minute then each 30 seconds plug unplug the power cord ... (google search it for more accurate instructions, it works almost with every model make)
