Trouble setting up wan access to internal server was created by bruceread
Hi,
I like to think I am quite good at these thing normally, but I am struggling!...I have just migrated from a Netgear ProSafe SRX5308, which I had no problems configuring - But I just cannot get this to work on my new 2960. I have spent all morning trawling through help pages and insrtuctions - but cannot get it to work!
Basically I want to WAN allow connections to ports 8000 and 8001 using TCP on IP address 192.168.1.111.
I have tried Port redirection, setting up IP object and filter setup. Obviously I have either missed something - or done it wrong!
HELP!

You don't mention Open Ports - is that available on the 2960? Might be a long shot.

I have a similar setup with a 2960 working. The only thing I needed to do was ensure the port redirection was setup under the NAT menu. This then opened the right firewall rules to allow traffic to pass through.
I have:-
Port redirection mode: One to One
WAN profile: WAN1
Source IP - blank
Public port 80
Private IP - the internal IP address of the server
Private port - the port on the server I want the traffic to land on - also 80
You can add additional port mappings int he 'More port' area

any other ideas?
I have setup a filter in the firewall - should I have done this?
