If you can ping IP addresses on the internet, then the connection must be working. Sounds more like your DNS settings are borked.

What does a ipconfig /all say for your network adapter?

As you can see I force DHCP settings to send out google's DNS servers rather than using router.

What happens if you try using nslookup adn forcing it to use a different name server (in my case I'm forcing it form 8.8.8.8 to 8.8.4.4)

Amazingly, embarassingly, stupidly, sadly - I've been a bit of an idiot...

I had a static DNS set on my wireless adapter that was from a test I did for a customer months ago, which stopped working when the router assigned ip addresses from a different subnet. I never throught to check it, as I've not used static IP addresses outside of setting up servers since ... oh I don't know, 2002?

It's all working... should have checked it.

So for you sky users..

Logon to the modem, put it into Bridge mode,
hook it up to your router, put you option 61 60 info in

Job done.
