Question:
Hi,
I am looking to purchase the UK Draytek Vigor 130 ADSL/VDSL Modem as I prefer to have a separate modem and roter rather than use the Router Modem combination of the BT Home Hub 5. I have a FTTC BT Infinity 2 connection.
My question is does this modem support IPTV (Multicast) which I use as supplied by BT for additional channels such as Eurosport and BT Sport. The reason I ask is the following feedback on Amazonhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-reviews/RMZ0W8RK4YEZJ/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00F9E5LQA#RMZ0W8RK4YEZJ
Regards,
Ken
Answer:
Hello,
No, for that type of Multicast, the router has to be connected directly to the line in
order that the streams are broken out onto your LAN directly.
Regards,
Not sure I follow that response as it all works ok with Openreach modem and separate BT Home Hub!!!

Having queried the above response this is the reply I received:
Sorry, if you are VDSL then it should work as VDSL uses VLANs not virtual paths.

This does work. The setup for the Vigor130 for IPTV with BT VDSL is explained onhttp://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-130-bridge
The Vigor130 should be put into bridge mode rather than PPPoE passthrough.
If it's put in bridge mode then IPTV will work fine if the router also support IPTV / Multicast.

What I am trying to establish is if the 130 is used as a modem with an appropriate Router,
