2865 Router (non WiFi version) as Mesh Root ? was created by John
Is it possible to use a 2865-K router (i.e. with no wifi) as Mesh Root in wired mode with two AP912c APs as initial Wired Mesh Nodes (any other Mesh Nodes being wireless connections to these)?
In my case the router would be out of range of the wireless Mesh Nodes so there's no point using a wireless one.
The AP912c are PoE which I think means they must run in "Wired Mesh Node" mode

If the router has no wifi why would you consider using it as a mesh root? (I doubt that it would offer that facility in any event). Simply set one of your AP912's as the root and the other as a node.

I just wondered whether it was actually possible since it would seem quite neat if it could.
From further reading, I'm presuming not.
As you say, it can be done with an AP ...
Thanks
