Does Wi-Fi 6 use two MAC addresses? was created by Andrew
I can't find an answer to this anywhere...I have a 1060C and a new iPad Mini which supports 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6. Given Wi-Fi 6 supports 2.4 and 5GHz does this mean that a Wi-Fi 6 device has two MAC addresses (one for each band or does it use one band at a time)? I'm using MAC address white listing and need to be sure if one or two addresses will be used?
Thig got me thinking about other Apple phones which can operate at EITHER 2.4 or 5GHz. Do they use the same MAC address or does it change depending on which band they use to connect?

My iPhone 11 Pro Max and SE (new model) MAC addresses don't change if they connect to 2.4 instead of 5Ghz
They do however change if I turn "Private wifi address" on:lol:
They only use one band at a time, same as with previous iterations of wifi. Why would 6 be any different?

Ok, if Wi-Fi 6 only connects to one band at a time I can see that the same MAC address can be used. I'd assumed Wi-Fi 6 was able to use both bands at the same time.
