What is the best way to extend the wifi of the Vigor2862ac .

I am looking to put in a Vigor Access Point, but want to keep the same SSID across all devices and the manageability.

Do I run a Ethernet cable to the access point or can we link the access point via wifi to extend to coverage.

No problem with keeping the same SSIDs. If you can run a cable then do so, I've found that using the router in bridge mode has reduced performance compared with, say, linking two APs by bridge. And any wifi bridge will have nowhere near the throughput of a direct cable connection.
