2830n Dualband - Huge wifi latency was created by ctluk
Hi,
I've got some strange behavour on a 2830n that is baffling me somewhat. Basically the wifi strengh is good but when connected the latency drops through the floor. For example a simple PING response time can be almost a second, and more often than not there is no response. Internet browsing isn't possible at all. This behaviour just started happening and wasn't a consequence of a system change. I've upgraded the firmware to 3.6.9 in the hope that might have cured it.
Now, the really strange thing....I've got a spare 2830n so I've backed up the config from the orignal router onto the spare and plugged that one in. On the replacement router the wifi was perfect for about a day, now it is behaving the same as the old router.
So is there something in the configuration I should be checking?
Cheers
Rob

Try changing the wireless channel - what you're describing typically occurs when the wireless client / router have to retransmit packets due to interference from other networks on the same channel.
If you're using 2.4GHz try using channel 3 or 9.
If you're using 5GHz, try using channel 48 or 44.
