APM across various models of APs was created by geroi
Hi, wee observation ...

My setup :
2860

Two physically separated Lans on site
Lan A - for staff - SSID 1
Lan B - for quests - SSID 2 with different name and key than SSID 2

Also have 3 types of APs on site:
5 x AP910C - for Lan A
1 x AP902 - for Lan A, Lan B is unplugged
3 x AP900 - for Lan A and for Lan B at the same time

All firmwares on APs 1.2.0
Firmware on router 3.8.2.3_BT

So I'm trying APM here to make the roaming between APs 'smarter'.

So I have created WLAN profile and tried setting it up like this :
SSID 1 - for Lan A
SSID 2 - for Lan B

Applied then this for a test for 1 x AP910C + 1 x AP900

I can see that on AP900 SSID 1 and SSID 2 have been applied for LAN A - not good. Also Lan B was disabled be the profile. SSID2 should have been allocated to Lan B.
Also on AP910C SSID 1 and SSID 2 have been applied for LAN A. Not good either.

Then I noticed that APM started messing about with other APs which I haven't selected for profile application. LAN A & B started being mixed up. Took me few hours to figure out what was going on. By the looks the software/profile is capable of managing LAN A and LAN B at the same time but the profile once applied is mixed up.

I also find APM interface on the router and on APs very confusing. No clear indication what is 'in use', which profile is applied to which device and if its 'in sync', which 'router' is applying settings to the AP. No differentiation between APs with and without APM profile.

I think Draytek developers still need to spend some time and iron out the idea of APM as its not working as it should.

Or maybe I'm doing something wrong here ... please advise.

Is this something to do with Audi Provisioning being enabled on APs ?
