Wifi design was created by adrianmarsh
Hi All,

I've currently got an netgear wifi Access Point running our Guest wifi network. Its a static-defined wifi and WPA password, known by all in the office, and connects out via Ethernet to an isolated Guest VLAN. The problem is that now all their mobiles, laptops etc use that network automatically, and its drowning it out to the point where not all devices can connect.

My options seem to be to install more Access Points (WDS?), or change the password, which then causes the legitimate users problems in accessing it.

I noticed today that the 2930 has a 'Guest Wifi Portal' - what does that mean ? And is it on any of the Ethernet based devices ? (28xx series?).

Adrian.

What exactly are you trying to achieve, What wifi standard is your netgear AP? you need to setup per device network bandwidth throttling, or install more AP's and limit the traffic that way.

How many devices are we talking about here?

I'm available for consulting if you're (or anyone else) is interested..
