No idle interface available in PPTP_Task was created by foxinfotech123
We've inherited a client who has been using PPTP VPN, whilst we have moved quite a few to L2TP there are some for operational reasons still need to use PPTP until we can swap out their kit - however, we've noticed that once a week or so, new PPTP connections fail with the error message;
No idle interface available in PPTP-Task.
A reboot of the Draytek resolves this fine.
The Draytek is a Vigor 2762 model with F/W 3.9.2_BT, DHCP lease time is set to 86400 (24hr) and there is generally a maximum of six user split across local LAN and VPN - so you wouldn't expect DHCP running out to be an issue here.
I know PPTP is deprecated however I wouldn't expect to have to reboot a Draytek every 5 to 7 days either.

Looking on the bright side, it's easy to automate it:wink:

As a slightly less facetious response ...
Maybe the PPTP code hasn't been touched in 20 years and is in conflict with some aspect of the 2762's firmware:?:
