LAN to LAN routing always using default gateway was created by john2019
Hi,
I am trying to route some traffic through my LAN to LAN VPN using the route policy feature, but when I check what IP address I'm getting it is always the local (static) one and never the remote (dynamic) one.
My set up is:
Local router
Vigor 2860n on a static IP address (HQ)
private address 192.168.0.1
Remote router
Vigor 2925n on a dynamic IP address.
private address 192.168.1.1
The ISP for this router uses private IP addresses so this has to act as the client and initiate connection to the 2860n.
On the 2860n I have set up SSID4 on subnet LAN4 - 192.168.4.0 and added a route policy to push all traffic with source 192.168.4.0 through 192.168.4.255 to the VPN interface. I have tried setting the gateway to the default and also to 192.168.1.1, neither helped.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?. Happy to provide further details if needed.
Thanks
John

Not 100% sure, but I found that if I want to use a remote site as default gateway, I had to enable "Change default route to this VPN tunnel ( Only active if one single WAN is up )" in the VPN LAN to LAN profile (bottom right).
