How to configure 2860 for VPN was created by geoffdh
I have a MAG 256 streaming IPTV box and I want to employ a VPN
After a lot of research, I've narrowed the VPN supplier down to one of 3: VPNArea, VPN.ac and VyprVPN

I've looked at trying to get OpenVPN on the MAG 256, but after transferring the source and unzipping, I failed because the .configure command could not find a gcc
I only have ssh access and no tools for installing applications.

So the alternative is to use a VPN enabled router, and I'm looking at either the 2860n or 2860ac
- has anyone had any experience of configuring either of these routers for any of the 3 VPN suppliers listed above and can it be done ?

I've done a bit of reading and it seems router VPN applications are based on OpenVPN, DD-WRT or Tomato.
What is the 2860 based on ?
If that's not a relevant question, then I've still got a bit of reading to do as I'm new to this.

Thanks for reading and any advice much appreciated

You can't add your own VPN application to the Draytek Routers - you have to use what it provides. The 2860 does IPSEC, L2TP/IPSEC, SSL tunnel or  PPTP.
