Port 1723 open on 2820 even when VPN profile is disabled was created by dottedquad
Hi,
I have a LAN to LAN PPTP profile which works when marked 'Active'. And when that is the case, it seems the 2820 opens port 1723/TCP automatically to enable the VPN to be established.
However, I'm somewhat surprised to find that port 1723 remains open even after I have disabled the LAN-LAN profile and rebooted the 2820.
Is this what's supposed to happen? Or a firmware bug?
My system details:
Model Name : Vigor2820n
Firmware Version : 3.3.7.8_232201

Try disabling the PPTP VPN server on the router to see if that helps, that's configured under [VPN and Remote Access] > [Remote Access Control]. The router will need to reboot to apply that change.

Thanks. Went to where you suggested, but none of the 3 VPN service types' selection boxes were checked - even when the PPTP VPN is running:
VPN and Remote Access >> Remote Access Control Setup
Remote Access Control Setup
Enable PPTP VPN Service
Enable IPSec VPN Service
Enable L2TP VPN Service
And port 1723/tcp remains open when the PPTP connection is down. I'll ask Draytek UK support.
