VPN lan to lan Ipsec was created by niknaksky
Hi ,
I have a weird problem I previously had 5 sites connected via ipsec VPN for server replication and all was working fine.
I have now upgraded 3 sites from adsl to fibre and thought all I needed to do was change the IP for the sites that had been upgraded.
As soon as the upgrades were complete the vpn would no longer work so I have changed the ip and the vpn connects but no pings are getting across.
The sites that were upgraded to fibre can still connect and pass data after the IP change but will not work with the existing sites that are still on adsl.
So far I have tried
- reboot of both routers
-deleted both profiles for the vpn
-created new profiles using ipsec
-created new profiles using l2tp
Could there be a setting that needs to be different for adsl to fibre ?
I am at a loss any ideas ?

The ADSL and VDSL networks are quite different at the ISP level, have you checked whether both sites can ping each other? I've found with some ISPs that sometimes different parts of their network can't communicate with each other but can with the internet in general.

What's the MTU set to on the routers that are using FTTC?
Also, have you tried PPTP to see if that works?
