Heh, I won't tell them if you don't :D

Yeah, already dumped onto the Buff that DD-WRT vpn version, that was the easy part - now for the reading part :)

Can't fault these Buffalo's tbh, used them at my old workplace cos they are so reliable imo and give a great signal/speed to boot..

As long as nobody reads this I'm ok...

BTW Tomato is less featured than DD-WRT but a bit more user friendly to those used to stock firmware or not wanting to jump with both feet, never tried the OpenVPN version but probably will on a WHR-HP.

I'd be interested to see what performance comparisons you make if to do try.

I would try SSL VPN to the work 2955 but as I've gone Linux (so java client) probably would not be representative for many users on here

(in case anyone does read this :-) )

Stu, have you had any success with going from the Buffalo (Client VPN) to the Draytek?

Tried a Lan2Lan setup using Dial-in on the Draytek (2820) side but nothing happens, but if I do dial out to the Buffalo then it's fine...

Would have gone PM route to ask, but there is none..

Works now, but I'll be damned if I can give myself the routers UK IP :(
Despite setting the static routes on the dd-wrt buffalo..

We're using SSL VPN and experiencing connection drops all over the place.

As a router the box is good and well-featured, certainly for the price.
We haven't tried other VPN types, so can't comment on those.

The SSL VPN is flaky it would seem - unless I hear otherwise from Draytek.

The advertised AD integration is near-useless as it doesn't support anything beyond basic authentication. I spent 2010 conversing with Draytek Asia about this, they implied they'd work on adding further authentication methods for AD integration, then reneged on that, stating they wouldn't be adding it after all.

I'm not sure if I would recommend this unit for anything beyond home/hobbyist use.
