VPN Created but cannot access network was created by ajb_1976
Hi,

I have created an VPN tunnel between sites using a 2600 (remote site - dial out) and 2800 (host site - dial in). This connects no problem at all and I can ping the 2800 router from a pc at the remote site. However I cannot ping any other devices on the host network, it appears as though some config on the 2800 is preventing me viewing the network.

Any guidance appreciated,
Thanks,
Alan

What are your local and remote subnets?

How have you specified these in the VPN LAN-LAN settings?

2900Gi/v2.5.6; 2900/v2.5.6

host subnet - 192.168.0.0, 255.255.255.0 (router is 192.168.0.251)
remote subnet - 10.10.0.0, 255.255.255.0 ( router is 10.10.0.200)

the above is how they have been entered into the relevant lan to lan profiles.

thanks

Oh well, that was my first shot as ping problems often indicate overlapping subnets. I won't be able to help more for a week or so as I am away.

It may help someone if you post the type of VPN (e.g. IPSec) connection you are running. Also, do the host network devices have firewalls on them?

2900Gi/v2.5.6; 2900/v2.5.6

Try a couple of things

1) Turn off windows firewall (on PC your using to VPN to network)
2) start --> Run; type CMDthen in command prompt type -->

net use \\server\folder (on the network)

It will ask for password, use admin credentials and tick "remember" password.

Also, can you RDC to a PC or a server on your network?

Hope this helps.
