Very interesting Think Broadband monitors Steve.
They both seem to be the live graph, but leaving that aside I read this that your 1am reboot brought the router up at 1am. It went offline for some reason about 15 minutes later but came back on at around 1:45am. There was nothing much happening until 6pm.
At 6pm it went offline for a minute or two (longer than a router reboot typically takes) then something started to generate some traffic (the maximum latency increases) which is still going at 8:30pm as I type this.
I assume the monitor uses your (now static) IP address rather than some DDNS name.
Also I assume in your WAN connection it is set with Physical Type (Ethernet) as "Auto negotiation", Link Condition Detection Mode as "Disable" and Active Mode is "always on".
If you have now replaced the power supply it is starting to be suggestive of a hardware fault with the router.

Hi Mark, yes the ThinkBB is using static IP rather than domain. The 6PM glitch would have been me replacing the PSU, I had left by 7pm so I am not sure what is making the latency rise in the period up to 10pm. WAN connection IS set to ethernet and auto negotiation, but as it is PPPoE I cannot set it to Always On and No detection mode. Instead it is set to PPP Detect (only choices are that and ARP detect I think). It is still disconnected as of 12noon today 2/10/24 so I cannot log in to check anything just yet. Notably, the 1am reboot did not revive the connection which was gone by about 11:45 yesterday. Looks like I need to save my pennies for a new router eh?

It's a shame the PSU wasn't the fix.
My Plusnet WAN (so PPPoE) says Link Condition Detection is disabled and Active Mode is always on.
I don't know why you can't set these.

Because you're using "Static or Dynamic IP" instead of "PPPoE" in your WAN settings?
I tried that once (Zen vdsl) and as I recall it wouldn't connect, so PPPoE for me. That only gives the options of "Ping Detect" and "ARP Detect" on my 2927ax.

I think there is confusion as to which settings are which. The General Setup on my 2862 (I seem unable to post an image - refer to DrayTek_UG_Vigor2862_V1.7.pdf) on page 66 WAN 2 is set to Physical mode: Ethernet/Auto Negotiation, Active Mode: Always On, but on page 91 II-1-2-5 Details Page for PPPoE in WAN2 (Physical Mode: Ethernet), PPPoE tab: Wan Connection Detection Mode is PPP, IP Assignment is Dynamic but I have also tried Static there with no material difference. The Static or Dynamic IP tab wont work as Plusnet requires PPPoE.
Maybe you are referring to the General Setup page which DOES mention Always On, but this is a load balance/failover choice rather than the link maintenance setting which are those on the Details Page, and there, the choice for WAN Connection Detection does not have Always On as a choice. I don't have a Link Condition Detection but the WAN Connection Detection must be the same thing. Is that on a 2927? If so maybe that's another good reason for me to choose to upgrade?

Steve has it, I think we are talking about different pages.
One other thought, in the details page (II-1-2-5 Details Page for PPPoE in WAN2) where I do have WAN Connection Detection PPP Detect, in the PPP/MP Setup do you have the PPP Authentication Idle timeout set to -1 ?
