2860 update to firmware 3.95 shows as 3.94 was created by pol098
I downloaded the recent v2860_395_BT.zip [Vigor 2860 Series BT (576D17) Firmware 3.9.5 - Recommended] and installed v2860_395_BT_576D17.all in the usual way to a 2860Vn+. The update seemed to work as usual, but the dashboard shows "Firmware Version 3.9.4 _BT Build Date/Time Jan 10 2023 16:40:12". I repeated the update carefully, same. The router continues to work normally. This seems to be an error in the update file, possibly simply only wrong display name. I did a binary check of the .all file, and it has "3.9.5_RC2_BT" near the beginning.

Just to add to this - I installed the 3.9.5_VT3 version from the international FTP site - that one has a build date of Aug 24 2023...works fine, it's the same 576D17 modem code.

It sounds like someone uploaded the wrong file to the site. Have you tried the UK site? It used to be ahead of the international one in terms of firmware updates, unless there is just one global one now.

Thanks ianfretwell and edinburgh for replies. I should have said I downloaded from https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-2860 - is that the UK site suggested? It's not just a case of the wrong file, as it has "3.9.5_RC2_BT" embedded in it. As the router apparently works fine I'll wait to see if this issue gets noted and corrected. If nothing happens I might revert to the previous version (if "downgrading" is possible), or to the international version, as a file with at least some known errors is problematical.
the differences between the UK and the international version, for the same modem code? I nearly always use the UK version, per advice, but haven't seen any differences on occasions I've used an international one.
Best wishes, pol098
What arethe 3.9.5_VT3 version from the international FTP site ... is the same 576D17 modem code
Best wishes, pol098

Yes thats the UK site, whereas mine came from -
https://fw.draytek.com.tw/Vigor2860/Firmware/
In terms of the differences - I've never been able to tell any either...

Thanks again. I've downloaded (but not yet installed) the 3.9.5_VT3 international version. FWIW (very little) the .all file sizes are different by about 4kB (UK bigger), and there are a great many differences on a binary compare.
