SMS alerts free? was created by visionario
I was looking at setting up SMS alerts for WAN failures, which I've not done previously, and was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way of doing it for free? I don't want to get into contracts or monthly payments. I did look at textmarketer.co.uk but I imagine there's a minimum amount of credits you need to buy.
Thanks

I don't know about any free services but I bought £10 worth of credit from bulksms.com several years ago and still have most of them left. Unless you're expecting a lot of WAN failures isn't that cheap enough?

As long as its a one-off payment, that's fine. Any problems getting it working?

No, a few years since I did it but as I recall I just set up an SMS/Mail Service Object with the details in it. On just checking mine I see that I have bulksms.com (INT) as the provider and not bulksms.com (UK). I can't remember if there's a reason for that but it seems to work OK in the UK.

Deploy Uptime Kuma (free) for WAN monitoring. It's supports dozens of Notification services including PushOver who are a mobile push notification service. A one off £5 get's you unlimited notifications to your phone forever.

The whole thing literally takes 20mins to setup from scratch.

Thanks - I might have to, as I can't get bulksms or textmarketer working.
