Vigor 2763 - Why? was created by qwaz01
What is the point in the Vigor 2763? It looks almost identical to the Vigor 2765, or am I missing something?

It seems very subtle ...

The 2765 supports VDSL2 Profile 35b and the 2763 supports 30a instead. I have no idea what that means :D

The specifications "tab" for the 2765 says it supports 2 LAN subnets with VLANs, whereas the 2763 says it supports 4. However, that's contradicted further down the page, where both say "4 LAN subnets, with up to 8 VLANs"

Very! They are both the same price via CMS so just seems odd to add another model when the specs are identical.

I asked Draytek and received a very helpful response...

The Vigor 2765 supports 35B which is a VDSL based technology that's used in some EU countries (eg Germany) but isn't used or planned to be used in UK. In UK VDSL is bsed on 17A (runs over 17Mhz frequency range compared to 35Mhz frequency range of 35B). Due to chipset availability, we had better availability of the DSL chipset that's used on the vigor 2763 we decided to make the Vigor 2763 available.

So for UK buyers its essentially the same device.
