As the subject says - I wanted to add a D-Link DWM222 for 4G failover to my venerable 2860, but when I do it boots up and then after about 30 seconds (not long after it has all initialised it seems) it just hangs and reboots.

I am not sure why this doesn't work and would like some suggestions on what could be wrong here.

I am running the latest firmware* and the device is on the supported modems list.

Model Name Vigor2860n
Current Time Wed Feb 16 2022 19:38:01
*Firmware Version 3.9.1_BT
Build Date/Time Jun 8 2021 18:53:15
DSL Version 576D17_A/B/C HW: A

I rarely have any other issues with this device. I did try changing out the power supply in case it was a power issue, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

What's the power supply you're using it with?
You could try a powered USB hub to see if that helps.

If it stays up long enough to do so, you could try reverting to version 3.8.9 ...

My 2860 isn't stable on 3.9.0 or 3.9.1.

One of the things I noticed, was that it continuously discovered the USB drive that is plugged in to it (this info via Syslog). Perhaps that's a common factor?

Had exactly the same with my 2860ac and DWM-222 with firmware 3.9.2. Did a firmware downgrade work for you?
