I need to connect my ONT to my Draytek 2862n via a Planet VC-231g to use the existing twisted pair cable to the DSL socket on the Draytek in VDSL2 mode. The Draytek is located in an internal equipment room, ie with no external walls, so running a new CAT5e cable from the ONT to the 2862n would be extremely disruptive. The FTTP ONT is located on one of the external walls to the house. From that point to the 2862n there is an existing twisted pair cable originally used for an ADSL2 connection. The VC-231g (Ethernet to VDSL2 converter) is VLAN tag neutral, The Ethernet output on the ONT does not use a VLAN tag. The question is, to make this setup work do I leave the VLAN tag blank on the 2862n VDLS2 setup? I know this will limit my FTTP setup to ~100mb/s but I won't have a 100mb/s plan so no issue.
