Hello just looking for some advice.
I have a 2830 running 3.6.3_db_232201 firmware
I obviously want to upgrade this as much as possible. Would i be able to simply apply the Vigor2830_DB_A_v3.8.8.3_232201 firmware found on the draytek FTP site? Or would this cause any issues?

V3.8.8.3 is the latest (final?) firmware for the 2830. The "db" in your current version details, signifies that it is the "Dual Band" 2830n.
The main download page is:
https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/legacy-products/legacy-router/vigor-2830-dualband
- which is where I would tend to go, rather than the FTP site.
You should upgrade to V3.8.8.3 as a matter of some urgency - there have been two Critical – Upgrade recommended immediately firmware releases - the last was 3 years ago
(3.6.3 is from nine years ago...)
The release notes contain some guidance regarding Hardware version, alternative modem firmware, and dual/single band (this product existed in quite a few variations).
Backup the configuration before upgrading - a fallback to the original version would involve a Master Reset (and application of that backup).
