Vigor2830n IP6 on WAN2 was created by jonbeverley
Trying to get ip6 working on my Vigor2830n using WAN2. I have nothing on WAN1, I don't have ADSL.
WAN2 is connected to a wireless link over to a friend that has FTTP with Sky. I can ping6 across the wireless link from the wireless client (Ubiquiti PowerBeam M5).
WAN2 is set to DHCP on ip4 and 6rd on ip6. It seems to be picking up an address and shows green.

If I ssh to the router it shows "IPv6 WAN2 Disabled" as below.
ip6 online 2

% Tx packets = 4, Tx bytes = 256, Rx packets = 199, Rx bytes = 18234
Any ideas how to enable IPv6 on WAN2?
Thanks.

If I change to DHCPv6 then I get

I can tell you that IPv6 does work on the 2830. Unfortunately that's about all I can tell you...
I briefly tried it with a 2830n (and Zen Internet) and it appeared to work ok. However, I was somewhat concerned that I might have exposed every device on my network - and thought I ought to learn a bit more before unleashing it. That was nearly four years ago, but I've not got round to it yet
Maybe it's a routing issue ... or perhaps the Wireless link isn't compliant with IPv6?

I don't know anything about 6rd but I have used ip6 on a Vigor2862 using DHCPv6.
I think you are effectively daisy-chaining routers, by which I mean your neighbour has a router connecting to their ISP Sky, and you are connecting your 2830 so that it is a client of that. Their router will have an ip6 prefix delegated to it by their ISP. To use DHCPv6 your router needs a prefix delegated to it so that it can hand out addresses to devices connecting to it. This will only work if your neighbour's router supports prefix delegation and is configured to pass on a subset of its prefix to your router.
Is 6rd one of these protocols where you register with a provider and they provide you with a prefix, tunneling all this over ip4? That could work, but you will be double NATing which has limitations.
