2862 with vDSL on WAN1 & 100Mbps on WAN2 was created by davidmatthewson
Hi
I have a 2862 which works fine with vDSL at 20/80Mbps on WAN1 and have recently got a 100/100Mbps Ethernet connection to use on WAN2.
The Ethernet has a static IP and connects to a Cisco router which in turn connects to the leased line. It is connected up and both WAN1 & WAN2 are enabled and set to 'always on'. It all works fine for 10-15 mins and then WAN2 - the Ethernet link - drops and reconnects about 10-20 seconds later.
This makes it useless.
The vDSL line is rock solid and does not drop, just WAN2.
There is no load balancing set, no QoS set so has anyone got any suggestions as to where to look to try to get this working in a stable manner?
Thanks!

What do you have set for "WAN Connection Detection " @ WAN >> Internet Access :?:
You could try setting it to "Always On " as an experiment - but one of the other options ought to work (to give you an indication, if it does, really, go down)

Thanks for that. I have actually tried various 'WAN detect' setups, all of which don't fix the issue. Currently it is, as you suggest, set to 'always on'. OOI, when we first set this up we had problems with setting the WAN port speed - both ends should be 1Gbps capable FD and that's what we set it to. But the interface would not come up. Set it to 'auto' and it does, but only at 100/100 Mbps FD. Not really an issue but .. odd....
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Ok, resolved. The problem was the Cisco & Draytek were 'fighting' over setting the link speed when the Draytek was set to 'auto' and the Cisco to '1Gbps'. They *would* link and pass traffic but at some variable time later - minutes - hours - the link would drop as 'auto' tried to alter the speed. Stability - and sanity - was reached by setting the Draytek WAN2 to 100/100FB and this has now been rock solid for about a week so I reckon is 'fixed'.
