eBay 2860 was created by beef dogg
Hi All,

Bought a 2860 from a seller on eBay and have done the usual factory reset and TFTP FW flash and the normal admin/admin password still does not work. Is there resellers or bulk buyers that change the defaults and resell? I have emailed Draytek support for more info but im not holding my breath.

You need to be asking the seller why the device isn't working.

Is this a new router or so called refurbished ?

Hopefully you are covered by the eBay guarantee.

Both Emails went out at the same time, One to DrayTek with serials to see if there is anything they can do and one to the seller saying they are not fit for purpose.

They were sold as used, and as you know, Drayteks are pretty robust and most bricked devices can be brought back to life with a flash. this one was brought back but as mentioned, the standard credentials do not work.

I have had an email back from the seller saying they will accept the return, which is something.

On a tangent in regards to the 2860, It looks like its not going to cut the throughput i will need, Unfortunatly, I dont have £240 for the first gigabit throughput Router Draytek do, The 2927. :(

2925 is well out of date - do you mean the 2927?

In this thread: https://forum.draytek.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=23802#p97579, there was a claim (by one of the forum's mysterious 'admins'), that the lowly Vigor 2762 can give "close to gigabit performance". Personally, I'm extremely sceptical, but the claim appears to have been verified by an end-user.

My request for further information went unanswered...
