Mains adaptor exit lead extender - what spec? was created by jann
Have a 2860 which I need to place a distance from the mains supply, so looking for a cable to put on existing end of mains adaptor lead which then goes to router.
Looking around net, I think the right thing to buy is a 'barrel power cord'. Anyone purchased one of these and is it 2.1mm or 2.5mm? Tricky to measure.
Thanks

It would be safer and simpler to use a mains extension lead.

According to my Vernier calipers, the outer diameter is 5.5mm and the connector part is 9mm long.
Maybe try and find a technical PDF at RS or Farnell, for one that matches?

Perhaps more usefully, I found that a 2.5mm drill bit is a nice snug fit, into the plug's centre hole.

Received today via Amazon (Farnell wanted to add £14 handling charge...) - and seems to work fine.
For anyone else needing similar, I got: CDL Micro 1.5 m DC Jack 5.5 x 2.5 mm Power Male to Female M-F Extension Cable for CCTV Camera, Black - £3.49
Thanks for assistance!
