Help finding how to diagnose an issue was created by clintonwestwood
I have switched over from a Dell SonicWall router/Firewall to a Draytek Vigor 2862. I have these routers in many of my offices.
In one particular office I'm having a problem with a piece of software that dials out to remote devices. All I'm supposed to need to do is open a specific port and all should work. On my Sonicwall all does work but when the Draytek is connected, the connection is not made.
I'm trying to diagnose what is wrong but can't seem to find anything in syslog. Do you have any ideas where I could look on the router to see what is happening?

It's called PMAC+ https://manualzilla.com/doc/5900589/pmac-plus
It's some Data Logging software that a site uses. The developers have stated it should just need port 8100 open and that's it. The port is open but it's as if the PMAC software just isn't getting out.
I'm really stumped and really don't want to go back to Sonicwalls. However when we connect the old Sonicwall, it works perfectly.

All I can offer as advice is the only time a dial out piece of software has had a problem for me was a work VPN connection on a laptop and it was a MTU issue - only happened when my Draytek was used. In that case the VPN client had some options that fixed it.

Have you tried the firewall diagnostic? Firewall --> Diagnose
Maybe it's just something simple

You helped me and Draytek look in the right place.
It turns out it was a routing policy. Turns out having multiple WANs can be a bad thing.
Traffic was going out on 9 but listening for a response on 10.
