Vigor 2860, DDNS and Cloudflare was created by tbear
Hi folks
Before I disappear down what could be a deep rabbit hole, has anyone got the dynamic DNS for a Vigor 2860 working with Cloudflare?
Cloudflare has a secure token system, and an API, but AFAICS it uses PUT requests, while I think the Draytek user-defined DDNS setting is limited to GET requests? (So cannot be made to work).
Thanks in advance.

You could probably add a cname record to Cloudflare DNS, that 'points to' a record at one of the Dynamic DNS services that the 2860 can update.
Would that give you what you want?

Afraid not. It’s the A record that needs to change with DDNS.

Yes, I know that
You would set up a static cname record at cloudflare, something like: WWW .tbear .cloudflareddns.com ==> TBEAR .vigorddns.com
then set the Vigor 2860 to keep the actual A record (TBEAR .vigorddns.com in the above example), updated with the IP address.
Obviously, this is an example - I don't know what record you want to create (and I don't know what form Cloudflare DDNS names take).
The target of the cname that I used (Vigorddns.com ) definitely works with the 2860 and is free. However, it is initially configured entirely in Chinese, which is a nuisance, to say the least. Support for the global equivalent (drayddns.com) seems to have been withdrawn, at least for the 2860. I've not investigated any of the others recently.

D’oh! 🤦♂️ Of course!
Nice idea, I’ll give it a try.

Done. Worked like a dream, and the DDNS setup was absolutely painless. Global DDNS hasn't been withdrawn, it's hidden under the wizards option.
