Firstly, although im not a total newby to this sort of thing i am by no means an expert. Ive done port forwarding befor and have managed to get my plex server forwarded ok, but im buggered if i can get the WOL to work!

firstly it works just fine on my local network, the WOL app in applications wakes all of the stuff i need waking so all of the hosts are set up correctly.

Ive bound all of the IP's to mac addresses so that should be all good as well.

ive set up forwarding on both ports 9 & 7 (which i understand are the ones commonly used) public port 9 to private port 9 and assined them to both individual ip and also tried it on a broadcast ip (255)

Ive tried every combination that i can think of and now i need help!

Please be gentle.

Thanks

I don't know if this helps, and I realise this is 2.5 years later (!) but still, maybe someone will find it useful.

I have a 2927 and I did exactly the same as you but couldn't get it working.

I thought Binding IP to MAC from within the router GUI would be enough. It seems not though, I had to additionally open telnet and type:

wol up <Mac address>

Once I did this, it all worked.

This was my source:

That page does seem to suggest that with your router the steps you took are sufficient, but perhaps something changed at some point.
