Still looks like you might be tagging the VLANS with a Vlan i.d. what are you plugging into those ports?

pleased to say this is now resolved, thanks for all suggestions

The only thing I did differently was rather than disable DHCP on LAN1, I set it to relay to our windows DHCP server instead.

Rebooted all devices and bingo.

So I am assuming that disabling DHCP on LAN1 caused an issue for wired connections only / DHCP on LAN2 :?
