2926n/ac support wireless WAN? was created by envoid
This is using a mobile phone hotspot, Mifi or some external WiFi to supply a WAN link. I understand the 2925 supports it and the 2926 is the successor?
Thanks
Thanks

According to the manual it doesn't - physical mode for WAN2 is ethernet only. So not only do you lose 1 LAN port but you also lose this very useful functionality - glad I stuck with my 2925!

Thanks Piste Basher for that. It does appear to lose a few features, I may go after the 2925 instead then. I guess it could reappear in a firmware update.

This feature is available on the Vigor 2926 with current firmware. It was missing from the first couple of release firmware versions but was added back in with the 3.8.8 firmware I think. It's definitely available as an option for WAN2 with the current 3.8.9.2 firmware version.

Thanks admin3, good news. Nothing like a good software update.
Do you know if the WAN 2 port can also then be used as a 5th LAN port? The details page indicates WAN 2 can be configured as a LAN port with recent firmware. Just not sure if the two features can be used together (not a deal-breaker).

It can, that was added in with the 3.8.9.x firmware. The WAN2 port can't perform both functions at once though, it's either LAN port / WAN port / Wireless WAN.
