This is it - I have never done anything with these settings since I don't know anything about them

I also added this file into the set of files I uploaded before so this contains all 5 files

Ah there is no settings for this, it is only on Draytek WAPs I think
It could be as said above a bug then because your settings are correct. I would put both of them on Wifi just for now, if your 5GHz is configured properly (with auto channel, 80MHz bandwidth), it should be fine. You could also put one on the 2.4GHz band and the other one onto the 5GHz
One thing you can try however is to factory reset the Draytek router and reconfigure everything from scratch

Yes maybe I'll try 5GHz for the one nearest the router. For now they are behaving themselves so I'll stick with wifi for the present. I'll try reporting it to Draytek to see if they want to look into it.
Many thanks for your efforts. Lets consider this topic closed for now.

I can confirm using 5GHz on one box and 2.4GHz on the other box works ok.

Hi
A new firmware has been released, can you test it?

I applied this update 3.8.9.1_BT but there was no improvement.
I have submitted this problem as a support ticket to Draytek UK
