The new firmware 2926 3.8.8.2 was created by manicguitarist
v3.8.8.2- it won't stick on my router. I install it, and reboot as per the instructions, it then reboots itself 5 or 6 times and finally when it comes back online still only has 3.8.8
And, oddly, looking in the syslog folder- there is a file missing- it goes from 063_2018....to 065_2018.....
Anyone else see this issue?

No - but I don't want to lose all my settings on a sunny evening and then spend hours trying to restore the damned thing.

I love Draytek routers but I just accept that it's part and parcel that every now and then you need to apply the RST.
to be honest you may as well just bite the bullet.

^^^ That.
Anyway, 99% of the time, the config backup/restore function works as intended in those odd cases...
