Apple airplay it's not there was created by jamess
Hi
New user 2862ac all up and running installed current firmware, all going well until the wife tells me that she can't use airplay on her phone its not showing up.
I use the apple airplay function on my external devices (mac Book, Amp and phones to play music) My issue is that when I use the 2862 it does not show my apple airplay devices. If I replace the 2862 with my old BT hub 5 everything is fine, all my airplay devices show up. Do I need to enable something on the 2862 ?

2860 works fine. I assume you got the simple setup, with everything on the same subnet?

Not really, check the firewall maybe, but like you said. I'm not even sure what port(s) they use?
Could try running a wireshark, and see where the rejection comes in.

Airplay is multicast DNS, which would pass between wired & wireless clients for Airplay's discovery to work, it should work and there's not a setting you would enable to get it working.
If it's not working on the Vigor 2862ac with your network configuration, I recommend reporting this to the support team so that they can look into it and try to reproduce & fix the issue.

Please see my post "Board index ‹ Vigor Routers ‹ General Product Usage < 2860ac Sky Q and DLNA problem" I believe this is the same problem. I reported to DrayTek on 4/2/2018, not heard from them since 15/2/2018. Sent them an email requesting a status update on 28/2/2018 but no response.
