Web content filter not working for https site was created by icarusbop
Hello:
I have a Draytek 2860, and pay for the Cyren Categories filter for the Web content filtering. Up until recently it seems to have been working OK, but I just found a loophole that I need help fixing.
If I go to "www.xhamster.com " it gets correctly intercepted as adult material and blocked (as confirmed by the URL category on the Cyren site)
But if I go to "https://xhamster.com " (note the deliberate missing 'www' and 'https') it goes through and allows the webpage to be viewed.
I know I can manually set up a URL filter, but this is only one example, are there are many sites that do this. I really need the WCF filter to find these for me as I cannot cover all the nefarious sites myself by hand!
Can anyone help please?

Looking at the Cyren page the https site you quote is classified as pornography and should be stopped.

The DNS filter in the CSM menu can be used to apply web content filtering to HTTPS and all other traffic types, do you have that set up?
This guide covers how that is set up with the web content filter:
