Force Windows Update to use ADSL was created by stanchristie
VIGOR 2860LN with 3.8.5 firmware.
I am using an LTE connection along with a very poor ADSL connection (3MB/s). Windows 10 Fall Creator update is huge 4GB per machine and has gobbled up my LTE data allowance. I want to force Windows update to use ADSL. Anyone have any experience/advice on how to do this?
I have found some details of the URLs that need to be blocked but they include * (Wildcard characters) and the String Object setting in the LTE 2860Ln does not seem to allow them.

Try using the Load Balance / Route Policy rules to force the traffic through WAN1; you can set the Destination to a hostname and it does allow a wildchard character. It looks like "*.windowsupdate.com" and "*.microsoft.com" should be the domains required to cover windows updates
