3G modem support list, which is correct? *Solved* was created by owtanet
I know there's the 3G dongle compatibility list here
https://www.draytek.co.uk/download/support/DrayTek_USB_Modem_Support_160117.pdf
, which shows that the Huawei E3531 is supported on the Vigor 2832.
However, on the Vigor itself ( in USB Application >> Modem Support List) there's many fewer devices, and the E3531 isn't on there.
From my testing this morning it looks like the E3531 isn't supported, so in future which list should I go by? The official support list on the website, or the one on the Vigor itself?

I'm now just testing with a Huawei E3372, which the modem itself lists as compatible, but isn't on the spreadsheet.
It's not being detected, this is as far as it gets.
So far the only USB modem that I can get to work with the 2832 is the Huawei E3131.

OK, I've found a solution.
It turns out that the E3531 is compatible, but instead of using PPP it should be configured with DHCP mode .
I'm not sure how I was supposed to guess this, but It was just something I tried out of desperation, fortunately it worked.

Thanks for posting. Yes, a lot of USB modems are now using DHCP mode.
