Hi,

Could you recommend and give me opinion on Draytek products and if they are going to be the right choice for the following requirement?

The scenario:

Network equipment required to split 300 Mb/s Internet (with possibility to be upgraded to 1Gb/s later) between three independent flats. Each flat should have its own network and Internet routed through the firewall/router. The connection for the Internet is Ethernet (WAN port). Bandwidth should be shaped to allow equal speed for each flat (initially 100Mb/s per flat). Most clients will be wireless (laptops/mobile phones) but also 4 LAN ports are available in each flat and should be connected to the same network. Laptops (Windows and Mac) and mobile phones need to be able to communicate between each other in the same flat (both on 2.4GHz /5GHz radios and Ethernet ports) plus ability to stream using Apple AirPlay protocol.

Summary of the requirements:

1. Router which will support VLANs, bandwidth management, SSL VPN, WAN port (RJ45) for Internet connectivity, up to 1Gb/s speed and ideally wireless management.
2. Switch for each flat with 8 PoE ports and 1Gb/s speed. VLAN support (tagged and untagged)
3. 802.11ac APs with VLAN support, PoE 1Gb/s port, and support for AirPlay protocol, plus ability to communicate between devices on 2.4GHz and 5GHz radios.

These are the requirements and looking at the paper Draytek should be able to provide them but from my experience the real world scenario is different than the spec on the paper. Has anyone got similar set up and can comment if this is going to work with Draytek products?

Thank you
