Thanks for all your efforts.
Flashed new firmware.
Did a set up to work with existing modem/router.
And then discovered that plain 2860 does not have WiFi built in.
IOS and Windows set up apps had WiFi section missing.
Opened the unit and it had no internal aerials.
Silly me, wasted so much time.
Will end on EBay.

I have a 2860n and use the BT home hub the latest one as a WiFi point as its got ac and my 2860 is only n
Just turn off WiFi on DrayTek and use home hub, by turning off the dhcp setting and plug in Ethernet into port 1 or the home hub you can then use as WiFi access point only
