Failover 4G not completely idle when not in use. was created by richardwvm
Hi Folks,
Have setup a Huawei E3372 4G USB stick in USB1/WAN3 as a failover for BT Infinity VDSL, in our main 2860. This seems to work well.
I have however noticed there's an apparently constant tick over of data running over the 4G connection all the time, when it ought to be idle;
As you can see this is obviously going to eat into the data allowance over time to the tune of approx 45MB/hour. Is this normal behaviour?
Any ideas on how to stop the leak much appreciated!
Richard.

Interesting - lucky you noticed that. Hopefully someone will respond who knows the resolution.

What WAN connection detection do you have on the 4G connection? If you have set it to Ping detect that's exactly what it will do. Try ARP detect and see what happens.
