Help for a beginner! BT INFINITY and vigor 130 was created by anniew
I am trying to change my HH5 with BT infinity to a vigor 130 plus Netgear Orbi. I was under the impression that the vigor 130 was preconfigured for BT and I would just have to plug it all in and away we go.but this does not seem the case . BT would not accept the connection request. Spoke to BT in India and they have sent me details of what to put into the modem, I have managed to change :?: to PPPoA . Change the encapsulation and the modulation . But I cannot find the RFC, or how to check the network type (WAN not LAN) or MTU and QOS . This is all Chinese to me! I have never had to even try and set up a modem before since we have had combined modem /routers . Is there someone who might take pity on me and walk me gently through it, PLEASE!

Hi Annie,
The Vigor130 should be just plug and play, you don't need to reset anything. I would factory reset the 130 and go from there.
BT support are wrong, their VDSL is PPOE and it is the router that needs to be set up for PPOE.
This question came up on the BT forums, this link may help you with settings.

If you get stuck Draytek support can guide you through the settings on the HH5

However, see this advisory from Draytek with respect to BTTV delivery over the Internet
http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-vigor-130-bridge?highlight=WyJJUFRWIl0=&return=9962550
This explains how to enable Bridge Mode/MPoA on the Vigor 130. But leave the router using PPPoE. The note does state that the IGMP proxy should be enabled on the router.
Also, there was a Vigor 130 firmware upgrade earlier this year -

look for Vigor 130 on the downloads page.
