3.8.4.4 BT has been released which resolves this issue. The hardware acceleration issue also looks to have been resolved.
3.8.4.3BT has been very stable with regard to VDSL uptime so hope this continues.

Having just checked my new'ish 2860Ln I've found to my disappointment that the following ports show up as open;
HTTPS 443
VPN [PPTP] 1723
Calendar Server [CalDAV SSL] 8443
I intend to ask tech support about this as it's unacceptable in this era of "the internet"...
In the meantime it's back to my reserve router, [PC+Linux] where I can control all ports!

Check remote management and HTTPS management - maybe they are open or
set to port 8443...

Thanks for the suggestions. I've drilled down all the menus and set all the obvious candidates for incursion to 'safe' parameters, including those you outlined.
I'm on firmware 3.8.4.5_BT as of a couple of days ago but the open ports were there out-of-the-box and are still present after update+reboot.
It's time for some local telnet action I feel, and I hope that the necessary access+commands are available. I'll post of any success.

Any port redirections setup ? Also what about SSL VPN
On the 1723 you can disable that in the VPN REMOTE ACCESS menu but I wonder if there is also a port redirection on 1723...
