2860ac, use DNS from 1 LAN to another was created by bignick8t3
Hi all,
Purchased the 2860ac last week to use with my Sky Fibre BB all good so far, a very solid router.
I've setup 3 separate LAN's:
1 for all the LAN and the servers I run while working from home
2 for kids WiFi access that will be scheduled etc
3 for guests (keep em off my network)
Now I have a DNS server on LAN1 that LAN2 & LAN3 cannot see, I know there is "Inter-LAN Routing" but is there a way I can do where by LAN2 and LAN3 can only see the DNS server and not give access to all of LAN1?
This may seem like a basic question so I do apologise but in the last week I've learnt about VLAN tagging etc and have that all working beautifully.
Many thanks,
Nick

Maybe try the load balancing/routing policy feature http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-policy-routing-guide-v2#1-metrics-and-priority

Another solution would be to enable Inter-LAN routing between LAN1 and LAN2/3, then firewall access between the IP subnets so that only DNS traffic is allowed through.

What type of firewall rule would I create?
I'm not used to the level of complexity that this router provides but I am learning
If you can provide anything for me to work from it would be appreciated.
