2860vac LAN Proxy was created by weehappypixie
Hi Folks,
I have a DrayTek Vigor 2860Vac on Zen internet. My LAN is set to give out DHCP addresses. When I do an IPCONFIG on any system on my LAN it shows the DNS as my ISP whereas my old Vigor showed the IP address of the router. Is this normal.
Reason I am asking is because I cannot connect to any of my systems or NAS via hostname yet I can ping them.
I have tried from both an Windows 7 and Windows 10 systems. All systems are in the Private network zone. I've tried switching windows firewall off to no avail.
Can anyone assist.
Thanks,
John

What was your old router?
It is expected behaviour for the DrayTek routers to give out the ISP DNS servers once they've established a connection to the internet. This can be changed under LAN > General Setup > LAN1 Details Page by setting the DNS server settings.
